Margarita recipes? What about best scotch for scotch on the rocks?

Margaritas are quite variable in taste. Anyone know of any really good recipes? And with scotch on the rocks, I've had some that taste great, others that are bitter enough to pickle your nose. Can anyone recommend the best scotch for scotch on the rocks?
