2003 + toyota corrola decent car overall?

I'm looking at getting a fuel efficient vehicle with the recent spike in gas prices, and the corolla is on my list. From current owners standpoints, how do you like your car? Exactly what mpg are you getting? Is the acceleration ok? Any problems to look out for? Would you recommend it overall? My main concern is fuel economy and dependability.
