I dropped the old HP pavilion 4900ze and it ruined my screen. cant i fix this?

ok ok ok... i know its old, and to most people probably junk. it has a missing key and looks like it survived a natural disaster... haha... but its my first laptop and even tho i have two others this one has the majority of the last 4 or 5 years of my life in it. ive purchased bigger and better but given my choice i prefer my old HP. i thought about buying one off of ebay i see them all the time sold as parts and stuff. like water damage... or mother board... whatever. would it be worth buying another one ive seen them for 40 and 50 bucks. then have my computer guy just put all my stuff in the new one? cant i just buy the screen? what would you do? i can get the work done cheap. i just wouldn't want to spend over $100 in it. i need the keys anyways. what do you think? do you know a good place to buy laptop parts or a good site that sells electronics or junk? id just like to get this ol girl up and running again. even now she comes super fast n ready to go.... i just cant see anything. thanks for your time. thanks for your opinion. if anyone out there has a HP ze4900 HIT ME UP. im thinkin all i need is the shell with a function screen RIGHT???? i pray its that easy. :) ~doug
