Sims open for business is keeps telling me to insert discs from previous games help?

I remember a similar question from a while back and the answer was that the reason the new expansion asks you for the Double Deluxe disc (or disc 4 of the base game if you only have Sims 2, Nightlife or University)is so it can patch your game/ check whether your game is patched. I also found the same information on Tomshardware. If you don't have the disc for whatever reason I think you may be in trouble. You might find a workaround by patching the game first, but I honestly do not know if that will work. It might still ask you. Good luck though, I hope the patch does work!
