Where can someone find a list of the hadiths?

the hadiths were recorded by devout muslims about their beloved prophet and i have yet to find one reason why they would lie about their beloved prophet. so where can i find the list that post the good hadiths and the bad hadiths. the scholars here can point them out out but i need to find the list of good and bad hadiths. the good and bad hadiths have been around for over 1,400 years. so why didn't the muslim scholars remove the bad hadiths 1,400 years ago? so where can i find this list of bad hadiths that only muslims know about?
