Stabbing pain while using yasmin contraceptive pill?

I have been taking yasmin for 11 days. I had the worst period pain i had a had in a while, at the start of my period. Then towards the end i started getting really bad stabbing pains in my lower abdomen. I have now had this for 5 days, is this normal ?
